3. Note for settings

    - Labels

• EPH (Elliott Pattern Helper) context menu 'Fractal Counting' generates a chart and an ocillator, and you can choose the chart type, one of OHLC and HLC. If you are to choose OHLC type, you should set 'Open Label' appropriately.
• Oscillators can be generated based on either close prices or mean values of high and low prices. If you are to use close prices, you should set 'Close Label'.

    - Oscillator

• An oscillator is a large period simple moving average subtracted from a small period simple moving average, and its signal is a simple moving average of the oscillator itself of some period. Set moving average periods appropriately.
• If you check 'Elliott Chart displays an oscillator', EPH context menu 'Elliott Chart' will display a chart with an oscillator.

    - Counting

• Wave Counting is experimental.
• 'Consecutive tractals' means two or more fractals of same sort, i.e., up fractals or down fractals. If you choose 'Skip', then only highest (if up) or lowest (if down) fractal will be counted.
• If you are to use 'Williams' MFI', you should set 'Volume Label' first.

Bill Williams의 저서 'Trading Chaos'에 보면 Elliott Wave Fractal의 개념이 나옵니다. 누군가는 Elliott fractal을 Elliott Wave Principle의 'missing key'라고 얘기하기도 합니다.

엘리어트 파동이론의 단점이 분석자의 '주관'이 개입할 여지가 많다는 것인데요, 그 얘기는 파동 매김(counting)이 그만큼 어렵다는 것입니다.

Elliott wave fractal은 파동 매김에 사용되어 객관성을 높일 수 있다고 합니다.

아래 그림은 Elliott Pattern Helper에 추가된 기능인 fractal counting을 실행한 화면입니다.

연속된 Up fractal과 Down fractal 사이에는 반드시 엘리어트 패턴이 존재한다고 합니다. 그 사실을 파동분석에 이용하면 많은 도움이 될 듯 합니다.

Bill Williams는 fractal과 자신이 고안한 MFI(Market Facilitation Index)를 활용한 trading 전략을 소개하기도 했는데요, 한 가지 예를 든다면, 다음 그림을 한 번 보실까요?

위 (그림 2)에서 적색으로 표시된 Down fractal 48번은 MFI가 해당 조건을 만족시킵니다. 이 경우 48번 캔들의 저가를 하향 이탈할 경우 매도 포지션에 진입하라는 것이지요.


지난 블로그에 이어 Elliott Pattern Helper에 추가된 기능에 대해 말씀드렸습니다.

Elliott Wave Oscillator

파동 분석에 조금이라도 도움이 될까 하여 단순이동평균 oscillator 기능을 추가했습니다.
(수정된 Add In 파일은 조만간 올리겠습니다.)

Elliott wave ocillator는 5/35 또는 5/34 oscillator로서 100개 ~ 150개 정도의 캔들(또는 바) 차트에 대해 훌륭한 파동분석 도구로 사용된다고 합니다.

아래 그림은 Elliott Pattern Helper에 추가된 기능인 oscillator를 활성화한 차트입니다.

위 (그림 1)의 하단 부분이 5/34 oscillator이며, signal은 oscillator의 5 MA(이동평균)를 사용한 것입니다.

위 차트를 보니 Divergence가 분명히 드러나는군요. 그렇다면 5파동이 끝난 것인가요? 아니면 3번 파동 내부의 파동 5가 끝난건가요?
